Help and information / Main fuse

Before choosing the size of the main fuse (rated current), we recommend that you carefully consider how big main fuse you really need. Selecting a fuse that is too small may result in the inability to use all electrical equipment at the same time. It is also not wise to choose a main fuse that is significantly larger than the need of consumption, as this will result in a higher connection fee and will require an unnecessarily high amp to pay for a fixed price package.

To select the size of the main fuse:

  • Think about the power of electrical appliances, household appliances, heaters and lighting you are planning to use. Know that in addition to electric heating, appliances in the sauna and in the kitchen consume the most electricity at home.
  • Take into account the need for both summer and winter electricity consumption, as the size of the main fuse selected for summer consumption may not be sufficient for winter cold.
  • When choosing the size of your main fuse, take immediately into account the possibility that you may want to use more powerful machines or equipment in the future, such as installing a sauna electric heater. This avoids situations where you have to start increasing your main fuse later.
  • Calculate the total power of all the electric household appliances used at the same time. The size of the fuse depends on how many household appliances you can operate at the same time without having the main fuse switching off.
  • When renovating an old house, calculations related to the size of the main fuse must be made by the electrical designer. This service is provided by licensed electrical companies.

In an apartment building, each apartment has its own protective device (circuit breaker or fuse). If the circuit breaker of your apartment often turns off, you will need to contact the owner or owner of the house, who will evaluate the situation and can contact us to increase the main fuse of the apartment building. You can also ask our customer service representative for advice.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to resell the main fuse current. The main fuse installed at the point of consumption belongs to the network operator. Under the network contract, you have the right to use the network services up to the amount of the main fuse specified in the contract. The connection fee covers the investment in the electricity network made for the purpose of using the network services at the level of the main fuse at the point of consumption.
