Changes in network charges

  • Owing to the significant increase in the price of electricity, the network charge will be increased by, on average, 13 percent as from 1 January 2023. Elektrilevi is one of the largest electricity consumers in Estonia and requires electricity to cover the physical loss caused during transmission in the grid and to ensure the functioning of the electricity network.
  • Network charges will change as of 1 Detsember 2022 by an average of 2%. The price chance is caused by a 14% increase in the price of electricity.
  • Network charges will change as of 1 October 2022 by an average of 3%. The change will apply equally to all customers. The price chance is caused by a 27% increase in the price of electricity.

Changes for homes and small businesses (up to 63A)

  • The current basic tariff package "Võrk 3" will be terminated, all existing users of the package will be transferred to the package "Võrk 4" which includes a monthly fee with daily and nightly transmission fees.
  • A new "Võrk 5" package that uses four different kWh charges based on the consumption load in the network will be added. If consumption in the network is low, the kWh fee will be cheaper (e.g. at night, in summer, on weekends). If consumption in the network is high (e.g. in winter weekday mornings and evenings and in weekend and holiday evenings), the kWh fee will be more expensive.
  • The new package is suitable for customers with average or slightly higher than average consumption (eg 1500-3000 kWh per year for an apartment; 3500 to 11 000 kWh per year for a private house with 25A main fuse), consuming most of their electricity during periods with a lower network load or being able to direct their electricity consumption to periods with a lower network load. The package includes a monthly fee.

In self-service, we have provided customers with comparisons of packages with an annual cost. There you can see the current network package and its compatibility, and change the package if necessary.

Changes to low voltage packages over 63A

  • A time-tariff network service will be applied to all customers from now on, the current users of basic tariff packages will be transferred to a time-tariff package.
  • We will unite the existing low-voltage over 63 A substation and line price lists. All existing time-tariff packages will remain in use.
  • All customers will have the opportunity to choose a package with a capacity component.
  • A new "Võimsus Aeg VMA5" package that uses four kWh charges based on the consumption load in the network will be added.

If consumption in the network is low, the kWh fee will be cheaper (e.g. at night, in summer, on weekends and holidays). If consumption in the network is high (e.g. in winter weekday mornings and evenings, in weekend and holiday evenings), the kWh fee will be more expensive. The package is suitable for customers whose majority of consumption takes place during a lower load or who can direct their electricity use to a lower load period through consumption management.
