Why is it necessary to maintain the power network and its surroundings?

Maintenance work is necessary for the smooth delivery of electricity to homes, preventing breakdowns and ensuring safety. Maintenance works include maintenance and repair works of the power network and maintenance of line corridors.

What is being done during maintenance work?

  • Maintenance works of the power network include replacement of power line poles, lines and cables, maintenance of equipment etc. Read more
  • During line corridor maintenance, trees, shrubs and branches that can be dangerous and cause power outages are removed from the areas around transmission lines and substations. At the same time, maintained line corridors ensure good access to power lines and contribute to the faster resolution of power outages. Read more

    HThe need for maintenance works is determined by flying drones over the premises of landowners and inspecting the power network. Information is stored only for the purpose of making decisions regarding maintenance works. The operation of drones is subject to the requirements and guidelines of the Estonian Transport Administration, which can be found on their website.

    To ensure safety, we perform network maintenance work usually during the day. The electrician performing the work has to be able to check what is happening in and around the work zone, so as to avoid hazardous situations for the worker, the power network, to nearby properties and the environment. Maintenance works on line corridors are often performed before the maintenance and repair of the power network.

    Before the start of the works, our cooperation partner will send a notification letter to the landowner. The owner can communicate their wishes on the contacts in the letter. Your suggestions can be taken into account if they have been submitted and a solution has been agreed upon before the start of the work.

    A frequent issue for landowners are the ruts created in the ground by heavy machinery during maintenance work. We are trying to find a suitable solution to restore the original state, for example, we can fill the damaged ground with soil and plant new grass etc. Restoration work is carried out at a convenient time in regard to the weather and other circumstances (eg the ground is not filled in winter).

    Mida tööde käigus tehakse?

    Võimalusel tehakse töid elektrikatkestust tegemata. Mitmed elektrivõrgu hooldustööd on sellised, kus elektrikatkestuse tegemine on ohutuse tagamiseks hädavajalik. Juhul kui töö eeldab elektrikatkestust, siis planeeritakse tööd selliselt, et klientide jaoks oleks katkestusaeg kõige lühem – näiteks tehakse mitmed tööd samaaegselt.

    Mida tööde käigus tehakse?

    Liinikoridore hooldatakse õhuliinide ja alajaamade kaitsevööndi ulatuses. Õhuliini ja alajaama kaitsevöönditest välja jäävatelt aladelt eemaldatakse puud, mis kujutavad ohtu elektrivõrgule (on liini poole kaldu, kuivanud, mädanenud vmt).


    Tihedamalt asustatud aladel (nt tiheasustusaladel, hoonestatud aladel, hooldatud aladel, hoovi- ja õuealadel) piirdume tavaliselt liinidele ohtlike puuokste lõikamisega. Ohtlikuks loetakse juba liinile teatud vahekauguses olevat oksa – vahekaugus sõltub liini pingest.


    Tööde käigus tekkivaid raiejäätmeid ja metsamaterjali käsitletakse vastavalt õigusaktides märgitule:

  • Raiejäätmed ja metsamaterjal koondatakse õhuliinide alla, eraldi vaaludesse.
  • Tihedamalt asustatud aladel kogutakse raiejäätmed samuti õhuliinide alla vaaludesse. Poolte kokkuleppel paigutatakse raiejäätmeid ka mujale.
  • Soovitame maaomanikel ilu- ja viljapuude või -põõsaste hooldust ise teha, et elektrivõrgu hooldustööde ajal ei peaks seda tegema meie koostööpartner. Kaitsevööndisse puude istutamine on seadusega keelatud .
