Network connection
If you want to use electricity at a location where there is no previous connection, a network connection must be built. If you have become the owner of a registered immovable that has no valid network contract and where the power supply has been disconnected, the network connection must be reactivated.
Connecting to a network
A network connection is needed to supply power to a consumption point. In order to connect to the network, you have to submit a connection application, which we will use to prepare a quote. If the quote is acceptable to you, we will build a network connection.
You can submit a connection application
via our e-service
The connection process
Submit a connection application and sign a connection contract
We can use the connection application to prepare a quote. We will sign a connection contract and begin the construction work required for the connection once the first instalment has been paid
Work needed for the connection
You should start building your own electrical system during the connection process
Submit an audit of an electrical installation
An audit of an electrical installation certifies the safety of an electrical system
Network contract and supplying electricity
You can sign a network contract in our e-service. After the contract has been signed, we will supply power to your consumption point
How long does it take to be connected?
Simpler connections
1–2 months
In some cases
up to 12 months
In addition to the construction work, we will also have to prepare a construction design, sign contracts with land owners, apply for approvals with the local government and different authorities and handle many other tasks.
How much does it cost?
The fee depends on the distance of the connection point from an existing substation and your chosen amperage. A contract processing fee will be added to the connection fee.
EXAMPLE
The average required main fuse amperage for a detached house is 20 A

Reactivation of a network connection
If you have become the owner of a house or registered immovable that has no valid network contract and where the power supply has been disconnected, you will have to check whether a network contract is available
If a network contract is not available, you should send an application to reactivate the connection.
Submit an application

We can reactivate connections with an amperage up to that of the former main fuse of the point of consumption
We can reactivate connections with an amperage up to that of the main fuse of the point of consumption. If you need a higher amperage, you will have to pay for the additional amperage.
How much does it cost?
You will have to pay for the equipment, materials and construction work. We can send you a more detailed connection quote after you have submitted an application.
If the price of reactivation is higher than a new connection fee, we recommend you have new connection installed »
Connection reactivation free of charge
If you have a valid network contract but have been disconnected from the network due to a power cable having been stolen or a substation vandalised, we will restore your connection free of charge.
Forms and conditions
The connection process
We can use the connection application to prepare a quote.
A connection application has to be submitted before you can sign a connection contract. After receiving your application we will prepare and send you a connection proposal, giving the connection fee and the deadline for construction work. To submit an application you should determine the amperage of the main fuse and a location for the junction box on your property.
For a new house, the main fuse calculations must be made by the designer of the electrical system. When choosing the location of the junction box you should make sure that it will be easily accessible and not too far from the place of consumption. Usually, the junction box is installed on the edge of the property. When choosing the location for the junction box, you can use the website of the Land Board with its map of cadastre units. The final location of the junction box will be agreed as part of the electrical system design work.
It takes an average of 7 days to prepare a proposal; in more complex cases it may take up to 30 days. The proposal is valid for 60 days.
If you agree with the proposal, we will sign a connection contract and issue you an invoice. We will begin the construction work required for the connection once the first instalment has been paid. When you sign a connection contract, the first instalment is usually 50% of the entire connection fee. The deadline for payment is 7 days. If the connection fee is over 6000 euros (exclusive of VAT), in this case, we can agree on connection cost payment as follows:
You should start building your own electrical system during the connection process.
We recommend that you start building your own electrical system at once so that it can be completed at the same time that the connection contract is fulfilled.
Our work | Your work |

We will obtain the agreements of land owners and prepare the necessary technical design. | Order the interior electrical system of a house to be designed and constructed by a company licensed to do electrical work. |
We will construct the external power network with the connection point and the junction box with the main fuse and meter. | When your electrical work has been completed, order an audit of an electrical installation. |
We connect the electrical system of the place of consumption with the power network. We will inform you when the work has been completed. | Send a copy of the audit to [email protected]. |
Temporary network connection
If you need to use electricity before the network connection has been created, we have different temporary network connection solutions.
This can be done if the connection contract has been signed and the first instalment for creating a permanent network connection has been paid. A cooperation agreement for building is also considered a connection contract, provided that the project has been accepted by Elektrilevi before this.
To create a temporary network connection, the electricity company of your choice will install for you a temporary switchboard, which he later dismantles. The temporary network connection and connection point have to be built at your own expense and in accordance with the Elektrilevi technical requirements. Connection to the network, disconnection and installation of a meter are paid services, see pricelist »
A temporary network connection can be used for up to six months, in case of an existing connection contract until completion of the permanent network connection.
An audit of an electrical installation certifies the safety of an electrical system.
To assure the safety of your electrical systems, you must order an audit of an electrical installation and send it to [email protected]
You can sign a network contract in our e-service. After the contract has been signed, we will supply power to your consumption point.
For us to be able to supply electricity to your consumption point, a network contract has to be signed first. After signing the network contract, we will supply power to your consumption point. Now all you have to do is to pick an electricity supplier.
Main fuse calculator
* For a new house, the final main fuse calculations must always be made by the designer of the electrical system.
** The amperage is indicative; we will prepare an actual quote after we receive your connection application. See the price list »
