Elektrilevi is expanding its service area

13.06.2022

As of this summer, Elektrilevi will also be providing its network services in the village of Kurtna in Saku Parish.

The change is due to the previous network operator that provided network services in the area, Livilla OÜ, being declared bankrupt by Harju County Court. In co-operation with Saku Parish, it was decided to merge the former service area of Livilla OÜ with that of Elektrilevi in order to restore the provision of network services to local consumers.

Elektrilevi has already begun preparations for taking over the provision of network services in the area, and the consumers affected by the change will also be contacted personally. ‘We are aiming to eliminate all critical deficiencies by the end of this year. After the takeover, a stable network connection will be ensured for nearly two hundred households,’ commented Rasmus Armas, a member of the management board and the head of asset management at Elektrilevi.

More than 30 distribution network operators are currently operating in Estonia. Elektrilevi, Estonia’s largest distribution network company, has over 533,000 electricity network service customers. To ensure the supply of electricity, the company carries out maintenance and renovation work on 63,000 kilometres worth of power lines and 25,300 substations across Estonia. The percentage of the electricity network of Elektrilevi that is weatherproof stood at 72% at the end of 2021. Investments in the electricity network amounted to 100 million euros in 2021 and brought improvements to the security of supply of 70,000 customers.
